I’ve lived and worked across the globe and have seen the evolution of the European venture space since the late 90’s. After 14 great years at AlpInvest I decided I wanted to stretch myself and do something new. For me that meant doing a PhD in social psychology exploring the ways in which morality and business intersect. It also gave me room to explore new projects within the private equity space. This is how I came to help Blossom in the early days and became an investor in Blossom.
I work as the Chief Operating Officer/Operating Partner. In this hybrid role I get to work with both firm investors and our portfolio companies, which I love. Every day is exciting.
I believe that there is a new generation of founders that want to do good when they create their companies. But in order to do that, entrepreneurs need investors with courage. At Blossom, we have a much higher risk tolerance than most venture firms in Europe. We have an amazing global network and reach through our investing team. But we are also still quite small. That combination allows us to put all of our attention and all of our energy behind each of our portfolio companies.
It’s incredibly rewarding to work with early stage companies and to be on their journey — to know they're doing something that we can't even imagine. And knowing that we were there early on and supported them in their journey before pretty much anyone else is its own reward.
