Alex Lim

I grew up in the UK and moved to the US at 18 for college — and eventually to see if I could swim with the big fish in New York and San Francisco.

I was lucky enough to find investing and spent the first decade of my career learning the business of technology and venture capital from a host of truly exceptional mentors in California. Throughout my career I’ve been fortunate to meet and partner with leaders who will define this era of tech— Hopin, Discord, Hims & Hers, G2, UiPath. Every interaction taught me more about how to win in technology markets and the role investors should play in building hyper-growth companies.

Before making the decision to return to London, I spent years studying European technology companies and the broader market opportunity. Through that work it became clear to me that entrepreneurship was going through a renaissance in Europe, and that the right kind of venture firm could make a meaningful difference for both individual companies and for the ecosystem as a whole. Proving what’s possible in Europe alongside our founders pushes us as a firm to get better every day.

I’ve benefited from the culture of mentorship that the Valley has to offer and I want to bring those best practices to Europe. I’ve learned that the very best venture capitalists put companies and founders first. They raise their hands for work that others would consider beneath them. They test management teams’ thinking. And most importantly, they support the founder’s vision and make the impossible feel achievable. That’s what we at Blossom are here to do.
